Our story
A moving firm out of Bishop
Bishop Removals started from a simple gripe: the moves that go wrong round here go wrong for local reasons. A big van sent down a back lane it can’t get out of. A crew that’s never met a pit-terrace staircase. A price read off a screen that swells the minute the van turns up. We built a firm to move County Durham households the way this place actually is — solid, tight-streeted, and worth doing right.
Where we come from
We’re based in Bishop Auckland and we work the DL postcodes and the County Durham towns around us — Spennymoor, Crook, Willington, Shildon, Newton Aycliffe, Ferryhill, Barnard Castle and into Durham City. Between us we’ve shifted more North-East homes than we could count, from a single wardrobe up a back stair to a full house off to the Costa Blanca.
The same firm runs a European and Irish arm, because a fair few of the households we pack aren’t staying in County Durham — they’re bound for France, Spain, Portugal or Ireland, and they want the folk who packed the box to be the folk who deliver it.
How we’d rather work
Straight enough that you always know what’s happening and what it costs. Local enough to know the shortcuts and the pinch points. We answer our own phone and price our own jobs — the person you speak to first is the person who sees your move through.
We won’t dress the firm up with things that aren’t true. There are no invented review counts on this site, no award badges we didn’t earn, no press logos we can’t stand behind. When real reviews and credentials come in, they’ll go here — and not before.
